Education and
Learning
To ensure that our children are persistently exposed to high-quality learning, our teachers plan thought-provoking and encouraging play activities to meet every child’s individual needs in addition to enhancing their unique learning styles. Planning supports our teachers in ensuring that the academic growth of all children under our care is achieved.
It is fascinating and thrilling play that often captivates our children’s interest the most. Here at Fairy Tales Nursery, our months are filled with diverse themed events that are carefully planned to suit our children’s enjoyment. The thoughtfully chosen themes are designed to encourage imaginative and creative thinking within our children. Every month, a new theme is introduced to the children to stimulate their learning and development. Our highly trained teachers plan and adapt activities to suit the varying range of abilities present in the classroom.
Parents Stay
and Play
During the academic year, parents are presented with opportunities to participate in our theme-centred workshops with their child, wherein the parents are encouraged to engage in hands-on activities. These openings offer parents the chance to experience the learning process that takes place in the nursery and allows them to witness their child’s social growth amongst their classroom peers.
In order to better understand our children and support their development, we carefully monitor and observe our children’s progress throughout their time spent at Fairy Tales.
A settling-in report provides you with an overview of how your child has settled in during their initial six weeks at the nursery. Parents are given insights as to how their child is progressing, focusing on both the child’s emotional well-being and their skills in integrating within their new social environment.
A progress report is an in-depth description of your child covering the seven areas of the Early Years Foundation Stage. This report gives parents a detailed outlook on how their child has progressed and developed in addition to highlighting the milestones they have achieved. These reports are completed at specific times over the course of the academic year.
We understand the importance of effective communication between teachers and parents. Therefore, we hold parent meetings throughout the academic year in order to provide parents with opportunities to visualise their child within our educational environment. During these meetings, our parents are given more specific details of their child’s growth and academic progress.
In the early years of a child’s life, the capacity for learning is at its peak. During this period, children will learn key skills that will prepare them for a school environment. Our dedicated team of teachers will guide your child to become independent, increase their communication and social skills, and assist them in progressing in other areas of the EYFS. We pride ourselves in our strong learning culture, which enables children to nurture and develop in a rich and stimulating environment. The result of this is confident children who are ready to take the next step in their learning journey.
As children grow and develop, they also learn to show care, concern, and respect for others. Children learn this essential but often difficult part of their development by observing our staff as role models, as well as through educational activities and group sessions.
Challenging behaviour is also part of growing up as children become confident and learn to push boundaries. Children are given some space to reflect on any inappropriate behaviour, followed by a little chat and a hug to reset their behaviour and mood.
Extracurricular Classes
Extracurricular classes provide boundless opportunities for young children to adapt and become more socially aware of their surroundings. The lessons delivered in these classes give our children the head start to grasp critical concepts and gain experience with other languages, preparing them to be mindful of diverse cultures. To ensure the effectiveness of such classes, our enthusiastic language teachers continuously ensure that our children are engaged in learning styles that suit their uniqueness.
In both Arabic and French, children participate in learning that is catered precisely to their age group. Through play and a dynamic, stimulating environment, our children are taught the days of the week, letters, numbers, colours, and shapes. Children move on to listening to stories, using vocabulary, and creating small sentences with each other. Fundamentally, the extracurricular lessons correspond with the theme of the month.
During our Islamic studies classes, children are taught the basics of Islam in a manner that is easily absorbed and attractive to the minds of our young children. Islamic studies consist of listening to and reciting chapters from the Quran, discussing “Allah” (Where is Allah? Who is He? Who made us?), and the importance of simple etiquette, such as “Bismillah”.
Children from the age of 18 months and above will have three Arabic, two Islamic studies, and two French lessons per week. All extracurricular classes are designed to meet the different capabilities of our children.
